Hey guys! So Today I will be walking you guys through my daily go-to makeup look. This is a great look for any occasion!
Step #1: MOISTURIZE. I believe that this is an important step regardless if you have dry skin or not. Plus, it just makes your skin feel great! I use the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Glow Moisturizer. It is more on the pricey side, but it leaves my skin radiant. Available online at katesomerville.com for $65.
Step #2: PRIME. On an everyday basis, I like to use my Maybelline Baby Skin primer. This is a drugstore product (less expensive), so I would rather use this more often than my high-end primers (more expensive). I prime my T-zone area (forehead, nose, & chin) as well as my cheeks. For this step, try to utilize as minimal product as possible. A little can go a long way! Available at any drugstore for about $5.
(OPTIONAL) Step #3 CORRECT. If I am having breakouts or I have scars of any sort, I will color correct. I mainly use the colors peach and green of the LA Girls line. Peach is the same as an orange color corrector, but because I am of a lighter skin tone I use peach. So, I use peach for my dark spots and I just put that right on top of the scars and blend it out with my fingertips. If I have any blemishes and they are red, the green concealer helps tone that down. Available at your local beauty supply stores for about $3.
Step #3: FOUNDATION. I've found that drugstore foundations can work just as good as high-end foundations, depending on your skin type. I have normal skin, so I don’t really have an issue with trying different foundations. It is more depending on my personal preference. I use the Revlon ColorStay Makeup (for combination/oily skin) and Covergirl Fit ME! Dewy + Smooth Foundation (for normal to dry skin). Both of these foundations have buildable coverage, perfect for day and night wear. Available at your local drugstores for about $5 (Covergirl) and $13 (Revlon).
Step #4: BRONZE/CONTOUR. I think I have a really round face, so this step just snatches everything and gives me a slimmer appearance! For a more defined contour I use a small bush and for this occasion of an everyday look, I use a large feathery brush. My bronzer of preference would have to be the e.l.f Cosmetics blush & bronzing powder palette. Available at Walmart for $4.
Step #5: HIGHLIGHT/BLUSH. THIS IS MY FAVORITE STEP!!!!!!!! I love rosy cheeks and a poppin highlight. I just love the way the light bounces off my face from the glowwwwwwwww! All my friends know me for having a popping highlight. My favorite highlight is the from the Carli Bybel palette. Unfortunately, her palettes are no longer available at bhcosmetics or Ulta, so you may have to just search the web. I personally believe this palette is better than most high-end highlighters. As far as blush, I don’t really mind the brand, I just look for a rouge pink.
Step #6: SET SET SET GIRL. THIS STEP CAN NOT BE SKIPPED! To lock in my makeup and make it last I set my face with the Urban Decay All-nighter setting spray. I think it is important to invest in a good setting spray because it can make or break (literally) your makeup look. The All-nighter setting spray helps keep your face intact through the hottest days on campus and the sweatiest nights at parties. This setting spray runs for $34 for full-sized and $15 for minis.
Step #7. GLOSS IT UHP. Last but not least, lip gloss! The best lip gloss is from your local beauty supply store. I promise you! I love lip gloss that makes my lips look like glass, and those $1 glosses do just the job. They work just as good as the $16 dollar glosses you would buy at Sephora, so save your coins!
